HOW IS YOUR ONLINE USED CAR PRICING DIFFERENT THAN THE OTHER GUYS?
April 23, 2018
Right now, many dealers (new car franchises and independents stores) are hoodwinking customers with their Pre-Owned online pricing. How, you may ask?
They are using a hidden, suggested down payment to lower the advertised online price. For example, some dealers assume a $3,000 customer down payment and then advertise a $15,000 Pre-Owned vehicle for $12,000. Down payments lower the amount financed, they don’t lower prices. Or some dealers advertise an asking price with an additional discount if you finance through their dealership. Both of these manuvers is nothing more than deceptive marketing that allows dealerships to advertise vehicle with fake buy prices. When the customer arrives expecting to pay a certain amount for the vehicle and are then told it is actually more expensive it hurts the entire industry and everyone’s integrity. We, at Smith Haven, refuse to handle our customers that way… The Price You See Is The Price You Pay!
